Kippup is a shared calendar for friends and family, made by Somi Technologies Ltd. This page says what Kippup stores, who can see it and how to delete it. We don't show ads, we don't use analytics or tracking, and we don't sell or share your data for marketing.

Who we are

Kippup is run by Somi Technologies Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, with its registered office at 182-184 High Street North, East Ham, London, E6 2JA. We are the data controller for the personal data Kippup handles.

What Kippup stores

• Your email address, your name, your colour and your profile photo, if you add one.
• The groups you're in, plans and your answers to them, tasks, group chat messages, polls, ideas, and photos added to plans.
• Feedback you send from Help, with your app version and phone type, so we can act on it.
• Sign-in details: a record of the devices you're signed in on, and for a day, how many sign-in codes your email was sent, so codes can't be sent without limit.

Signing in with Apple or Google

If you sign in with Apple or Google, they tell Kippup your email address, an account number that stays the same, and, the first time, your name. Kippup never sees your Apple or Google password. For Apple, Kippup also keeps a token that lets it end its access to your Apple ID when you delete your Kippup account. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we only see the address Apple makes for Kippup.

Who can see what

• Only people in a group see its chat, polls, ideas and tasks.
• Only people in a plan see that plan and its photos.
• People in your groups see your name, colour and profile photo.
• Invitations you share are sent by the app you choose, such as Messages or WhatsApp; Kippup doesn't send them for you.

Your calendar and photos

If you turn on "Keep plans in my phone's calendar", Kippup makes a calendar called Kippup on your phone and keeps the plans you're going to in it. Your phone asks you to give Kippup access to your calendars for this, but Kippup only looks at its own Kippup calendar, and nothing from your calendar is sent to us. Turn it off, or log out, and the Kippup calendar is deleted. "Add to my calendar" only adds the plan you chose. Kippup only sees the photos you pick to add, never the rest of your library.

Who helps us run Kippup

• Hetzner runs the server that holds Kippup's data.
• Cloudflare protects the website and stores photos, in the EU.
• Resend sends sign-in emails.
• Apple and Google, if you choose to sign in with them.

They only handle your data to provide their service to Kippup.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. Your IP address is only held briefly in memory to stop too many sign-in attempts, and isn't stored.

Children

Kippup is for people aged 13 and over. Everyone gets the same protective settings: no ads, no tracking or profiling, and what you share is only seen by the people in your groups and plans. If you're a parent and think a child under 13 has an account, email[email protected] and we'll delete it.

Deleting your data

In the app, go to You → Account → Delete account. That removes your email address, name, profile photo, the photos you added to plans, your private tasks and your feedback; cancels upcoming plans you host; and ends Kippup's access to your Apple ID if you signed in with Apple. Messages, polls, votes, ideas and tasks you shared in groups stay for the other people in them, shown as "Deleted account" with nothing that identifies you. Groups you made pass to their longest-standing member. It can't be undone.

Your rights and questions

You can ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by emailing[email protected]. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office atico.org.uk.
